How to Build Bigger "Pecs"

By: Dr. Kofi

To sculpt a well defined pectoral muscles, it is important to 'attack' the muscles from different directions, with the bench positioned at a few different angles.

>> Chest presses on a flat bench work the pectoral muscles ("pecs") overall.

>> Incline presses: with bench adjusted to the incline position, tend to emphasize the upper area of the pecs.

>> Decline presses: with bench adjusted to the incline position, emphasize the lower area.

You can incorporate these different bench positions into the same workout. For example, if you typically do three sets of flat-bench chest presses during a workout, you could instead do one set in each of the bench positions. You may even consider doing three sets of each exercise, however, always vary which position you start with for greater muscle response and growth. As with all strength-training exercises, be sure to rest between sets.
